This full-day excursion, beginning at the Puerto Vargas entrance, takes you on a 5-mile journey around Cahuita Point, offering a deep dive into the park’s rich biodiversity. Along the trail, we’ll pause at crucial spots to rest, savor fresh fruit snacks, and cool off with a refreshing swim in the sea.
The hike begins in an ancient rainforest, where towering trees draped in epiphytes create a magical atmosphere. Walking along the elevated trail through the swampy forest, you might spot stunning blue morpho butterflies fluttering nearby. Cahuita National Park is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including howler monkeys, raccoons, coatis, sloths, iguanas, spectacled caimans, toucans, and even elusive snakes like the yellow viper.
