Finca Host

Meet Johnnie Abrahams, the gracious host of Finca Land. In 1999, when David arrived in Costa Rica, he encountered an individual living in solitude on the opposite side of Bananito. As he crossed to meet this person, he heard, “Here, you don’t need to put on your shoes.”

David extended his stay for months and returned year after year, immersing himself in the art of living in this unique environment until he became a neighbor to this enigmatic figure.

Johnnie, a warm and welcoming host, has a vast network of friends and family in the area. His lifelong connection to this land has given him a wealth of knowledge about the natural world and life. He also constructed a spacious “Rancho” with a stunning water view.

During your visit, you can savor a homemade family meal on a wood stove and receive a guided tour of the surroundings. Relaxing by the riverside or even taking a refreshing dip in its waters is delightful.

For those seeking a truly immersive experience, a little higher up the landscape, there’s a cabin within a jungle garden where you can spend the night. This retreat has all the ingredients for an exceptional off-the-beaten-path adventure.

Family Night Tour in Cahuita

Hello, I’m David, one of the founders of Tour Guide Costa Rica, also known as The Dutch Biologist from Cahuita. After studying biology in Amsterdam, I traveled to Costa Rica for three months.

I found the country so fascinating that I came back every year. I have 15 years of nature lessons in the Netherlands while leaving for three months in the winter and traveling to Costa Rica.

Afterward, I bought to have 80 acres of jungle near the village of Bananito. I live here in this beautiful country and organize tours of Cahuita and its surroundings.

Besides my passion as a tour guide, I am involved in a project that protects sea turtles. Additionally, I study the quality of drinking water in Cahuita and teach in local schools and communities.

My honor would be to introduce you to the lush nature of Costa Rica, the local Indigenous Tribe, and the Pura Vida Love of the Costa Rica landscape. Culture and people and I have many years of knowledge About Costa Rica.
